This is an old revision of the document!
Positive Aligners
This functionality is still in development and only available as preview version for testing. Please verify all results and models exported from the planning as usual.
Trimline
The trimline is planned directly in the Aligner module and can be added using the panel Trimline. Please adjust especially the distal placement of the line so that the fence visualizing the cutting direction is looking out from the model surface.
This line is now part of the project, will be automatically adapted when switching to other steps, and is also visualized on the models when switching to the 3D export.
3D Export
In the 3D Export window, please set the following configuration and save this as a separate export preset:
- Trim the model with the planes down to the height of the trimline
- Minimum Blockout is required (0.5 mm)
- Labeling positive onto the teeth
- No print-preprocessing activated
In the bottom panel for the serial export, a new option "Tray" is available for the positive Aligner. This option is missing when there is no trimline, the feature is not enabled as a beta test or the module BiteSplint is missing, which is required for the positive aligners.
According to first feedback the thickness should be set to something around 0.4-0.6 mm. The rounding can currently only be used for trays thicker than 0.5-0.6 mm, depending on the model. Please note that the settings are currently not saved and always reset tothe default values.
